I would like to wish all parents a wonderful holiday with their children. There have been a lot of tired students the past few weeks so I have no doubt this holiday has come just at the right time.

This week we were made aware that Monday 24th April has been declared a public holiday to celebrate the installation of Sultan Muhammad V as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Therefore please ensure that you do not send your children to school on this day. There will be no staff in attendance on Monday 24th April.

We would like to say farewell to Mr and Mrs Mayes and their children who are leaving TISPC today after over a year’s service to the school. I am sure many of the children, parents and staff will miss them and we wish them well on their return to the UK. As parents will know, Ms Wickes has already replaced Ms Mayes and Mr Chris Gavin will be taking over from Mr Mayes as Head of Design and Technology. Mr Gavin has previously worked at Garden International School and has been in to TISPC already to take some lessons and work alongside other members of the DT team. In other news related to DT, we welcome Mr Munir to the department. As some parents will know, Mr Munir has been working as a Teaching Assistant up to this point. This term, we also say farewell to Ms Dharsiga and Ms Kumutha and thank them for all her hard work whilst here at TISPC.

From 25th April we also welcome Ms Vicky Psiahos as Year 1 and 2 Leader as well as Ms Diane Williams as Year 5 and 6 Leader.  Both these ladies will be extra staff working closely with Ms Rivers and Mr Hallas to ensure we are maintaining the best quality teaching we can in the primary school. For the beginning of Term 2 Mr Vicknesh will be joining us as an extra secondary specialist Science teacher, Ms Sountheriyaa as a teaching assistant and also Ms Mimi - who worked previously at the school. Other staffing news will be shared at a later date.

When children return to school on Tuesday 25th April, there will be a letter coming home with some reminders about school procedures. I would urge all parents to read this letter carefully as we need to tighten up on expectations here at the school for term 2. This could be children and parents wearing their identification tags - only this week I stopped many children from entering the school as they were not wearing their tags. Or this could be a reminder on where children and parents can/should go each morning before 7.45am.

Our next Thursday Information Session for parents will be held on 11th May on Key Stage 1 Reading Records. This will be run by Ms Mary Rivers and will start at 2.15pm in the Auditorium. As usual, all parents are welcome.

Lastly - the children and PE Department have been working very hard to prepare for our upcoming Sports Days. A reminder that the Secondary Sports Day is held on Wednesday 3rd May. A letter has already gone to parents about this. The Early Years and Key Stage 1 Sports Day is held here at the school on Thursday 4th May and the Key Stage 2 Sports Day is to be held on Friday 5th May. A letter went home this week about the Primary Sports Days.
